Contact UsWhat Is A Dental Bridge?
When one or more of your teeth are missing, it's not just a cosmetic issue — gaps in your teeth can cause your remaining teeth to shift out of place. This can result in extra tension when biting, increased pain when you chew, or even difficulty speaking. A bridge restores the health and appearance of your smile by covering gaps using a false tooth supported by either dental implants, your natural teeth, or a combination of both. At Advanced Smiles in Frisco, TX, Dr. Ernest De Paoli offers custom-made bridges with high-quality materials that will help to give you back your beautiful smile. If you have missing teeth, please schedule a consultation with a member of our team to get more information about your treatment options with a dental bridge.
What Are the Benefits of Dental Bridges?
At Advanced Smiles in Frisco, TX, dental bridges provide a number of advantages to help rebuild lost teeth:
- Upholding the facial muscles, providing a rejuvenated look
- Increasing self-confidence and improving your quality of life
- Giving a durable and long-term tooth replacement choice
- Dispersing bite forces evenly to shield your natural teeth
- Boosting the look of your smile by covering gaps
- Reinstating proper speaking and chewing function
- Keeping existing teeth from moving out of place
Who Is A Candidate For A Dental Bridge?
A good dental bridge candidate is a person who is missing one or more teeth but has generally good oral health otherwise. A dental bridge requires the surrounding teeth to be healthy enough to support the restoration, with sufficient density in the jawbone and gums. If you are missing many teeth, or if your remaining teeth are severely damaged, we may recommend other options, such as dentures. Dr. De Paoli will assess your teeth, gums, and jaw at your consultation to help you determine if you are a candidate for a dental bridge, as well as which type of bridge and material are ideal for your needs.
How Do Dental Bridges Work?
After your supporting teeth are filed down to prepare them, Dr. De Paoli will take digital x-rays and dental impressions so your bridge can be created. A temporary bridge or restoration can be used while your custom one is crafted. Once your bridge is ready, the needed areas of your mouth will be given local anesthesia. Stronger anesthesia or sedation options may be discussed if you have anxiety or trouble with a gag reflex to help keep you comfortable during the procedure. Your custom bridge can be cemented into place or attached to implants, depending on the support you and Dr. De Paoli chose during your consultation. Dr. De Paoli will adjust the fit of the bridge so it is comfortable and stable.
Advanced Smiles Reviews
I’ve had massive amounts of dental work done since I was 18, and now I’m 70. Crowns, bridges, veneers, root canals, gum treatments, implant, you name it. So when I say this is a state-of-the-art dentist and dental practice, I know from years of experience what’s great and what isn’t! And this is the best office I’ve ever been to. Dr. DePaoli is thorough, considerate, gentle, and explains what he’s doing and why. His staff is fantastic - friendly, cheerful, highly trained, and accommodating. I’m fact, I had the best teeth cleaning experience there that I’ve had in probably 10 years (and I normally get 3-4/year). Don’t hesitate to book an appointment.
